MINERAL RIGHTS
London Talks Break Down (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, Sept. 29. Mr Arthur Wina, Northern Rhodesia’s Finance Minister, said in London today that the London talks on mineral rights in his country had broken down and he would return home tomorrow. The Minister came to London to try to stop the rights, held by the British South Africa Company, from becoming entrenched in the new constitution of Zambia. Northern Rhodesia will be known as Zambia when it becomes independent on October 24.
Mr Wina told a press conference the breakdown of the talks would inevitably “harm to some extent the good relations between our two Governments."
