Resignations Withdrawn
(N Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, Sept. 30. More than 20 Auckland firemen who resigned from driving duties after criticism by the chairman of the Auckland Metropolitan Fire Board (Mr S. A. Gleadow) today withdrew their resignations. The secretary of the Fire Brigadesmen’s Union (Mr L. D. Robertson) said that since Mr Gleadow had apologised the union now regards the incident as closed. Mr Gleadow and other members at Monday’s board meeting criticised the driving of some of the men.
