SUGGESTION BOX
(Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON, Sept. 29. The Minister of Lands (Mr Gerard) told Parliament tonight he would welcome suggestions from both sides as to how to amend the unimproved value clause in the Land Valuation Act. Speaking during discussion of the Valuation Department Estimates, he said: “We’ve got to do something about this question of unimproved value. “I may be exceeding my authority as Minister—but it is the way I feel.” Changes in the act were necessary, and he was not happy with the recommendations from the Agricultural Development Conference in this regard. “We’ve got to do better than the conference,” he said.
