BEATLES’ FILM
Portugal Bans Children (N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) LONDON, September 30. Portugal has - banned the Beatles’ film, “A Hard Day’s Night,” to aIL children under 17, Portuguese film men said in Lisbon yesterday, the “Daily Mirror” reported. The censors also ordered cuts and delayed the Lisbon premiere “for reasons of expediency.” A spokesman for the exhibitors said it was not yet known which parts of the film would be cut. When the film is finally approved it will be shown under the title “The Four Haircuts of the After-Calypso.” This is a play on words on the old Valentino film, “The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse.” If the film is cut too much the distributors, Rank Films of Portugal, Ltd., may decide not to show it at all. The Beatles have a big following in Portugal.
