REVOLUTIONARY ADVANCES New-Type Film And Camera For Popular Use
A dramatic new easy-load system of photography that makes camera-loading as simple as putting a letter in a letter-box has been announced by Kodak New Zealand, Limited.
It takes only seconds to insert the film and shoot a picture with the new Kodak Instamatic Cameras, the first of which are now on sale in local stores. There are two Instamatic cameras, both the size of a midget transistor radio and therefore ideal for slipping in pocket or handbag. The key to this new picturetaking system is the Kodapak Film Cartridge, which the user simply drops into his Instamatic camera and removes when the exposures are completed. It is impossible to load a Kodapak Cartridge the wrong way and unloading is simply a matter of lifing the completed one out. Thus the changeover is absolutely foolproof. Light-Tight The Kodapak Cartridges are completely light-tight and can be loaded and unloaded anywhere, even in brilliant sunshine. They are available with a choice of Verichrome Pan film for black and white
shots, Kodachrome-X for colour slides and KodacolourX for colour prints. This means that for the first time the famous Kodachrome film and the rewarding field of colour slides for home-viewing are within reach of the users of inexpensive cameras. The Kodak Instamatic Cameras are priced at £8 17s 6d and £27 18s 6d. according to their special features. They are compact, lightweight and metal-bodied. Both have automatic exposure positioning and counting. double-exposure prevention and automatic filmload identification. Their optical eye-level viewfinders provide bright, large images. Both feature a very handy built-in pop-up flash unit. Such a range of practical picture-taking aids, together with the revolutionary easyload film feature, makes photography, either indoors or outdoors, easier, more successful and more foolproof than ever before.
The famous original Kodak : slogan “You press the button, we do the rest” is again appropriate. But the results are infinitely more rewarding today, thanks to the spectacular advances Kodak are continually making with both film and cameras. The revolutionary Kodak Instamatic cameras and the Kodapak Film Cartridges are now generally available at chemists and photo-stores throughout New Zealand.— Published by arrangement.
