X-RAY UNIT
Tour Of North Canterbury The Christchurch health district’s mobile X-ray unit for diagnosing tuberculosis and lung cancer is continuing its itinerary in North Canterbury and next week will be in Rangiora. The unit was at Leithfield on Tuesday and at Waikuku Beach yesterday morning and Waikuku township yesterday afternoon. It will visit Woodend today and Oxford tomorrow. The unit will be In Rangiora all next week except Monday morning, when it will be at Cust. The following week it will spend half-days at Southbrook (Monday October 12, a.m.) Sefton (Monday, p.m.), Tuahiwi (Tuesday, a.m.), and Pines Beach (Tuesday, p.m.) before going to Kaiapoi, where it will work until October 20. The unit will be available during late evening shopping at Rangiora on October 9 and Kaiapoi on October 16.
The rest of the itinerary is not settled in detail, but Kainga, Brooklands, and Belfast will be visited, after which the unit will go to a few business premises in Christchurch and then attend the Canterbury A. and P. association’s show. During the last few weeks of the working year it will be renovated and redecorated. During the first half of next year it will visit the Timaru area and parts of the West Coast, and in the second half of the year will carry out a suburban survey in Christchurch.
