GLENTUI CAMP
£lO,OOO In Hand The Canterbury-Westland division of the Salvation Army has reached its initial target of £lO,OOO in its Glentui youth camp campaign launched four months ago. It is hoped that builders will commence work on the camp and conference centre on the Ashley Gorge site within a month, and plansare being made to hold an Easter camp in the new building next year. Although the’ initial target had been reached the appeal was still open and money was still being received, the divisional youth officer (Captain B. McStay) said yesterday. It was likely that completion of the building would cost more than originally anticipated. A special fund-raising garden party would be held at the home of Mr ar.d Mrs R. Green on October 7.
