WAITARA POWER
Agreement On Sale Reached (N.Z. Press Association) NEW PLYMOUTH, Sept. 28. The Mayor of Waitara (Mr W. R. Yardley) and the chairman of the Taranaki Electric Power Board (Mr L. C. Harrison) today announced that agreement had been reached on the terms and conditions of a sale of the Waitara electrical undertaking to the board These terms have been adopted by the council and will be submitted for ratification to a meeting of the board at Eltham tomorrow. The agreement provided for a special reading of meters in the Waitara borough by the end of September so that the board’s tariff may operate from October 1. ■ It is proposed that all other aspects of the agreement will become effective as from November 1 this year.
