CEMENT PLANT
Output To Be Doubled (From Our Own Reporter) WESTPORT, Sept. 29. After a careful study of the prospects for the sale of cement in this Dominion, the directors of New Zealand Cement Holding, Ltd., have decided to double the capacity of the company’s plant at Cape Foulwind. The new scheme will provide for a second kiln with an additional capacity of 120,000 tons a year, the same as the present kiln. That, it is considered, will meet requirements for some years to come. Even before attaining full production at Westport recently, consideration had been given to the expansion of facilities to meet extra demands.
