Adolescent Marriage
(N.Z. Press Assn.—Copyright) CANBERRA. Sept. 29. A 17-year-old divorcee remarried last year and four 13-year-old girls became brides. The Commonwealth Statistician’s latest return indicates that couples are marrying younger these days. Youths are not as venturesome as girls. In the last four years the youngest marrying age for youths was 15. Five 15-year-old youths married last year, compared with 336 15-year-old girls. Fifty-two marriages of 14-year-old girls were also registered.
