Last Saturdaiy the pumping stations supplied 15 million gallons of water in 24 hours, the heaviest demand being about midday. The department also reminds consumers that the excess water rate is now Is 4d per 1000 galons. Last year the rate was Is per 1000 gallons, and the year before it was 9d per 1000 gallons.
