CHILDREN VISIT COUNTRY
Ellesmere Jaycees Act As Hosts Fifty children aged between three and 15 and staff from the Methodist Children’s Home at Papanui were guests of the Ellesmere Junior Chamber of Commerce for an afternoon in the country recently. The children were taken to Mr W. Johnson’s farm by bus. There they played on a miniature train, a traction engine, and a Vintage fire engine, went for rides around the livestock, and had drinks and ice-cream. Later the children were taken by bus to the Irwell Hall for an afternoon tea party with appropriate paper hats and squeakers.
