BANDS AND SONGSTERS
Salvationist Gathering Band and songster brigades of the CanterburyWestland division of the Salvation Army will attend a musicians’ gathering in Christchurch on October 24 and 25. At. least 10 bands and about the same number of songster groups will attend from the Christchurch district, Motueka, Greymouth, Waimate, Timaru, Temuka and Ashburton. The gathering will be led by the territorial secretary for bands and songster groups (Lieutenant-Colonel N. Bicknell). One of the bandmasters attending will be Mr R. Creswell, of Motueka, who is known by the Salvation Army throughout the world for his compositions for brass bands.
