PILOT NOT INJURED
Plane Turned Over (N Z Press Association) WAIPUKURAU, Sept. 29. The pilot of an aerial spraying aircraft escaped without injury when his Cessna struck a fence and turned over near Waipukurau at about 6.30 p.m. yesterday. The pilot was Stuart Smythe, of Waipukurau. The plane, owned by Rural Aviation, Ltd., attempted to land on a farm between Waipukurau and Waipawa when the motor cut. The undercarriage touched a fence, tearing two wheels off. The plane slid on its belly for about 50 yards, then flipped over. It was extensively damaged.
