GODFREY’S APPEAL
Penalty To Be Reviewed (N.Z. Press Assn. —Copyright) AUCKLAND, Sept. 29. The Professional Golfers’ Association will review the penalty recently imposed upon W. J. Godfrey, of Auckland, who is at present playing on the Australian circuit. This move follows an appeal by Godfrey against the penalty, which was imposed after he had been observed to throw a club in anger during the sponsored Tauranga tournament in June. Today, the secretary of the P.G.A., Mr N. D. Hayden, said a meeting of the association had been held in Hamilton before the sponsored tournament at Lochiel last week-end. The meeting had been acquainted with a letter of apology from Godfrey and a promise to be, in future, “a good P.G.A. member.”
