Wellington Scheme (N.Z. Press Association) . WELLINGTON, Sept. 22. ! A plan for a provincial soccer league was favourably received by delegates at an open forum held by the Wel-j lington Football Association., Most of the 50 delegates present supported the scheme ! submitted by Mr B. Gridley, j The president of the Wellington Football Association (Mr T. G. Wells) agreed that the plan should be thoroughly examined by the management committee. Mr Gridley suggested a 10team first division in Wellington should play one round of nine games for the Venus Shield.

At the end of this competition the two leading teams would enter a provincial league comprising representative teams from Hawke’s Bay, Wanganui, Manawatu and Taranaki.
