Soccer Body Wants Tour Talks In Committee

(New Zealand Press Association)

WELLINGTON, Sept. 22. The New Zealand Football Association’s council wants all discussion on the recent World soccer tour at next week's special meeting of the association to be held in committee, mittee. The council decided this at a meeting tonight after a recommendation made by the chairman (Mr R. Smith). “I am not really of the

opinion that anybody is going to be made a scapegoat for the world tour," he said.

"But at the same time I think that the whole matter can be taken in committee. We can then issue a statement afterwards.

"I think that the feeling of the country would be that we release a statement rather than open the whole thing for everyone to have a go at us. 1 feel that quite strongly," said Mr Smith.

Three northern associations— Auckland, Franklin and Poverty Bay—had earlier asked for several items, including the world tour, the association's tie-up with the promoter. Mr W. Tremi, and the recent Munster visit to be discussed at another special meeting.

This did not eventuale but these . matters have been incorporated on the agenda for the meeting being held next week. All are likely to be discussed in committee.
