Councils Foster U.K.-Aust. Trade

(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) SYDNEY, September 22. Sir Alec Douglas-Home said in a message today that expanding world trade must not influence Australia and Britain to neglect their trade relations.

It is vital for each of ' us to understand what is ’ happening in the other country.” “Growing Scale” Sir Alec Douglas-Home said the councils’ purpose of expanding trade both ways had his full support. “This way lies greater prosperity for both countries,” he said. “Nowadays each of us trades on a growing scale with the rest of the world, but it would be folly if this leads us to neglect trade between us.” The two-day conference will discuss Australian-British trade, double taxation, overseas investment, tourism and migration. •
