Boxing Ban On Liston
(N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, September 10. Sonny Liston, the former world heavy-weight champion, has had his licence to box in Britain suspended by the British Boxing Board of Control. This action was taken at a meeting of the board in London yesterday following Liston’s dramatic “walk-out” three days from the end of his successful exhibition tour last year. Liston, after boxing in Leicester, decided in the early hours of the morning to go home—and he went, leaving outstanding engagements in i Birmingham and Blackpool.
