CANBERRA. Sept. 8. The Colonial Sugar Refining Company, Ltd., and Melbourne University have discovered a process more acceptable and effective than fluoride to protect teeth, an opposition Labour member said in the House of Representatives. Mr C. K. Jones (New South Wales) said the process combated tooth decay, was non-toxic, and could be easily applied without expensive machinery or instruments. Mr Jones asked the Government to inform public bodies considering fluoridation of the new process. The Minister for Repatriation, Mr R. W. C. Swartz, representing the Minister for Health, said he would obtain information about investigations in this field.
