Milk For Asia?

Sir,—“Milk, as New Zealanders know it, is comparatively unknown in the Far East,” according to today’s issue. However, a start Has been made, at least in China. In a recent letter from a dairy farm attached to a commune near Sian, it was stated that the farm has four milking machines, three of which were made in China, and the fourth in New Zealand. Commenting on the New Zealand

machine, the writer said that it was much the same as the ones made in China—perhaps a little more “refined.” China does not consume large quantities of milk as yet, but what a chance for New Zealand milk products!—Yours, etc., P.J.A. September 7, 1964.
