(N.Z. Press Association) GISBORNE, Sept 2. “I cannot let you go loose," Mr L. N. Ritchie, S.M., told a woman who was this afternoon sent to prison for a total of 12 months. Hikl Taare, aged 21, a domestic, pleaded guilty to theft on July 30 and wilful damage to Police Department property, on September 2. She was sentenced to one year’s imprisonment on the first charge and three months’ imprisonment on the second charge, the sentences to be concurrent Detective Sergeant B. H. Constable said the accused had set fire to a padded cell door at the Gisborne Police Station and also to a mattress.
