MEAT COSTS MORE
(N.Z. Pref Astociation) AUCKLAND, Sept 2. The retail price of meat in Auckland is up by 4d to 6d a pound Compared' with this time last year. Spokesmen for the trade said today the rises had been caused through a general world shortage and demand for meat and the exceptionally bad winter. Beef and mutton are on average 4d a pound more than last year, and veil and pork prices are generally up by M a pound.
