Rainfall Still Low It was another day of cold, Wet weather in Christchurch yesterday. Although there were glimpses of the sun the temperature never rose above 44 riAtFFPPC Snow fell lightly on the higher ranges, and there was an occasional flurry on the plains.

The temperature was generally low until about 10 a.m. The maximum, of 44 degrees, was registered at 3 p.m., and thereafter there was a steady fall. The Meteorological Office at Christchurch airport reported that 56 points of rain fell between Tuesday night and 6 pun. yesterday. Rainfall this year is 12.55 in, compared with 18.75 in in the corresponding period last year. For most of the day a light to moderate southerly wind blew. There was a frost of five degrees in the Botanic Gardens and of one degree at the airport. Roads to the West Coast were open all day, according to the Automobile Association (Canterbury). ■ Lyttelton .waterfront work was again interrupted by rain.'
