BLEW SAFE IN OFFICE
(N.Z. Prets Association) AUCKLAND, September 1. The breaking and entering of a city firm’s office early last Saturday morning was admitted by • Peter John Wheatley, aged 22, steel erector, when he appeared before Mr J. R. Drummond, S.M., today. He was convicted and remanded for sentence until September 8. Detective Senior-Sergeant R. (?. Anderson said Wheatley, accompanied by another man who had already been dealt with, forced the office door of the firm. Using gelignite, ' Wheatley blew the office safe. A considerable sum was taken.
