A trust fund is to be established to promote the training of scientists and technologists in the fields of atomic energy, said the Minister for National Development (Mr D. E. Fairbalm). United Uranium N.L. had provided £lO,OOO to establish the fund, he said. Mr Fadrbatan said the trust would support, in a practical and valuable way, the Mm of (he Atomic Energy Commission tn build up in Australia a body of scientists and technologists skilled in all fields associated with atomic energy. He said United Uranium N.L. was one of the companies which had recently completed a contract to supply uranium concentrate to the United Kingdom Energy Authority. The trust fund was a portion of the profit from the contract. He said grants would bo made to train selected persons ®t the recently-established Australian School of Nuclear Technology, or at universities in Australia which promoted the study of nuclear science and technology, he said.
