Archdeacon Appointed
(N.Z. Press Association) NAPIER, August 31. The Primate and Archbishop of New Zealand (the Most Rev. N. A. Lesser) announced today that the Ven. H. A. Childs, vicar of Karori and Archdeacon of Wellington, has been appointed Vicar of St. John’s Cathedral Parish and Dean of Waiapu. Archdeacon Childs received his theological training at College House, Christchurch. After serving a curacy at Sydenham, he became successively vicar of Tinwald and Geraldine, and later, Karori in 1951.
