RAN INTO TROUBLE

(New Zealand Press Association)

N. PLYMOUTH, August 31. John Young, who is

attempting to run from Wellington to Auckland,- had nowhere to stay when he arrived at Tauniarunui at 6 p.m. today. Both hotels were booked out, as was the Owhango Hotel, 12 miles south of Taumarunui. Directed to the R.S.A. club, Young had his problem solved when Mr J. Kelland, of 33

Porou street, invited him and

hi; manager (Mr H. Lynn) to spend the night at his home. Today Young ran 51 miles from Raetlhi to Taumarunui, arriving in good spirits, but rather tired from the extra 10 miles over his previous daily average of 40 miles. “This means I could get to Auckland on Friday,” he said He has now covered 241

miles and tomorrow will attempt to run to within 13 miles of Te Kuiti.
