PARADE OF VETERANS

Annual Service At Pegasus More than 200 members of the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve Veterans’ Association attended the annual parade and commemoration service at H.M.N.Z.S. Pegasus on Sunday morning. The veterans, followed by members of the Royal New Zealand Navy Volunteer Reserve, the Sea Cadets, and the Girls’ Nautical Training Corps led the parade from Cramner square to H.M.N.Z.S. Pegasus where they were inspected by the commander, Commander R. M. J. O’Connor, R.N.Z.N.V.R. The service was conducted by the Rev. J. F. Feron, chaplain to the forces, R.N.V.R. retired. The first lesson was read by Commander O’Connor and the second was read by the vice-presi-dent of the association, Mr B. Box. The hymns were led by the band of the Second Battalion of the Royal New Zealand Infantry Regiment After the service wreaths were laid on the memorial plaque by Commander O’Connor and the president of the association, Mr G. E. Felton.
