Canterbury Beats South Canterbury
(IV.Z. Press Association! DUNEDIN, August 31. Otago, Otago B and Canterbury all registered wins on the first day of the South Island under-16 schoolboys’ soccer tournament today. The Otago A team had an overwhelming 9-nil win over Southland. In a more even match, Otago B beat North Otago 3-1. In the other match, Canterbury was too strong for South Canterbury, winning by 4-nil.
Hurunui’s Win.—The Hurunui senior Rugby team beat the Canterbury senior reserve side by 20 points to nine in a match at Culverden. A Canterbury third grade team beat a Hurunui under 20 team by 16 points to 3.
