Ten Canterbury Men In S.I. Side
Ten Canterbury players have been chosen for the South Island hockey team to play the North Island at Hamilton on September 26.
The teams announced at a meeting of the management committee of the New Zealand Hockey Association last evening were:—
South Island.—N. Little; P. Sutherland, B. Turner; K. Galbraith (Otago), S. Maister, P. Clark; D. Petheridge, W. Thomson, B. Aldridge, R. Best (captain), T. Thomas. Emergencies: M. Bennett. W. Burtt.
North island.—R. McPherson (Whangarei);- M. Llntz (Manawatu), I Free (Auckland): J. Hicks (Whangarei). J. Palmer (Auckland), R. Lapworth (Auckland. captain), D. Paget (Wellington), D. David (Auckland), K. Percy (Wairarapa), A. Rapson (Whangarei), B. Rogers (Auckland). Emergencies: H. Grant (Whangarei). R. Salmon (Whangarei), D. Davis (Auckland). A. Breed (Auckland) and L. A. Hodges (Auckland) were appointed as umpires for the match Senior Reserve The following is the Canterbury Senior Reserve hockev team to play Wellington in Christchurch on Saturday: I. Emmerson, P. Chant (Technical), T. Tizzard, B. Woods, R. Chapman (Sydenham), A. Bougen, L. Clarkson, T. Brennan (Woolston), D. Fuller, N. Curtis (Harewood), Hern, Best, Frazer (University).
