HELP FOR MOTHERS
Increasing Demand There was an ever increasing demand for help in homes where mothers were suffering from overstrain, and the Karitane Bureau would be pleased to hear of any mature, kindly woman willing to give occasional help in such cases, states a report from the recent meeting of the Christchurch branch of the Plunket Society. Many calls received by the bureau were emergency calls because of sickness in the homes, and it was regrettable that it was not possible to fulfil all these requests, as Karitane nurses were booked in advance, said the report. There were 82 cases booked through the Karitane Bureau during the month of July, and of these 42 received help of Karitane nurses, and an additional five mothers were helped by Australian mothercraft nurses.
