Friends Aid TV Purchase
The sisters and staff nurses of the Princess Margaret Hospital are now able to enjoy television in their off duty hours, thanks to the generosity of the Friends of Princess Margaret Hospital. “The cost of a set had been raised by the sisters, all but the last £20.” said the matron of the hospital (Miss J. Barnett) yesterday. “The Friends of Princess Margaret then made the very generous offer to contribute the rest of the money.” Miss Barnett said. The new set arrived this week.
A television set was purchased for nrzrses at the hospital some time ago, but one set proved inadequate for the number of viewers. The money left after the purchase of the set was made the nucleus of the fund for a set for the sisters and staff nurses.
