(N.Z. Press Association) TIMARU, Aug. 27. Unable to breach the tight Wellington defence. South Canterbury was beaten, 20-12, at Timaru today. The Wellington full-back, M. Williment, converted four tries, two scored by T. R. Heeps and one by G. C. Williams. Wellington was also awarded a penalty try when the centre, I. N. Uttley, was obstructed. South Canterbury’s points came from two penalties by C. Rogers, and tries by A. Millar and P. Roddick.
