DUPLICATE KEYS
Escaper May Have Had Set (N.Z.P.A.-Reuter—Copyright) LONDON, August 24. Detectives inquiring into how Charles Wilson, the 32-year-old train • robber, escaped from Winson Green prison in Birmingham 21 days ago, are concentrating on the possibility he used a duplicate set of keys. Normally keys and locks for the British Prison Service go through the Home Office prison department in London for distribution to prisons. The possibility that a set of keys to fit the Winson Green locks might have got into the hands of those who got Wilson out is now being considered by Birmingham detectives under their Chief Constable, Mr W. D. Capper, and the head of the city's C.1.D., Detective Chief Supers intendent G. Baumber. Reports that Wilson has been seen in places as far apart as Eire, Holland, London and many British coastal resorts, and also that he is still hiding in Birmingham, are being investigated.
