TEACHERS’ COLLEGES
Salaries Under Review (N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, August 25. An announcement on teachers’ college staff salaries, now under review, would probably be made in about two weeks, said the Minister of Education (Mr Kinsella) in Auckland today. Mr Kinsella said he expected no trouble in recruiting teachers’ college staff for the three-year course. Increasing numbers of graduate teachers were likely to be attracted to the colleges, which through normal expansion and the introduction of three-year training, could double their lecturing staffs before many years had passed. Teacher recruitment this year could reach record figures.
