SCHOOLBOY KIWIS
19 Named For Aust Tour (N.Z. Press Association) ROTORUA, August 25. The schoolboy Rugby League selectors (Mr R. Cranch, of Auckland, and Mr L. Blanchard, of Canterbury) named 19 players to represent New Zealand in Australia, after the North Island-South Island match at Rotorua today. The team leaves for Auckland tomorrow where it will train before departing for Australia on Saturday for a two-week six-match tour. R Walker, the Canterbury half-back, will captain the side and the vice-captain is R. Donnelly, of Auckland. The team is:—
Backs.—W. McDonald. S. Williams, M. Matete (Auckland), T. Teague, D. Martin, R. Walker (Canterbury), C. Tohe (Waikato), T. Mataira, K. Toheriri (Wellington). Forwards.—P. Ravllch, W. Maru (Waikato), R. Donnelly. R. Hunt (Auckland), I. Watson (Taranaki), J. McKinnon, G. Hulton (Bay of Plenty), A. Stuart (West Coast), I. Dalzell, I. Thornley (Canterbury). 15 Points to Wing The Auckland wing, S. Williams, was In outstanding form, scoring 15 points, when North Island beat South Island, 27-10. The big U-year-old Canterbury second row forward, I. Dalzell, scored all the South Island's points with five penalty goals.
