Betting Up On 1963
On and off-course turnovers on the second day of the Canterbury Jockey Club's Grand National meeting yesterday were up on last year. On-course the totalisator handled £95,540 10s, an increase of £BBO4, and the offcourse total of £200,206 15s was up £19,505 15s on last year.
Off-course investments on the double totalled £91,998 15s.
Smoke Ring and Triple Bel. winners of that double, returned £7 4s 6d for £l. The racing was held in fine, mild weather on a soft track.
