CHARGE OF THEFT

(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN, July 20. David James Bruton, aged 24, schoolteacher, was remanded until Monday by Mr J. D. Willis, S.M., today when he was charged with theft at Cromwell. Bruton (Mr B. A. Newlove) did not seek bail. Detective Senior-Sergeant J. Di Meates asked for the remand.

Bruton was charged that between October 9, 1963, and June 26. 1964, having received the sum of £29 Is 9d in money from Ivan George Brookes and others on terms requiring him to account for it to the Cromwell Tennis Club he fraudulently omitted to do so, thereby committing theft.
