SPECIAL STAMPS
Six Series In 1965 (From Our Own Reporter) WELLINGTON, July 20. The Post Office may issue up to 12 special postage stamps in six series next year. Three series have been settled—the Anzac issue of two stamps (3d and 4d), a health camp issue (2fd and 3d), and the Christmas 2fd stamp. Three other special issues are under consideration. These may Involve six or seven stamps. In Parliament today, the Postmaster - General (Mr Scott) said the Post Office was committed to a full programme of special stamps and declined a request from Mr P. Blanchfield (Opp., Westland) for a stamp issue to mark the opening of the Haast road. He agreed with Mr Blanchfield that this would be an important occasion but it was not the type of event for a commemorative stamp.
