CIVIL DEFENCE COURSE
ChCh. Engineer To Attend Mr St. G. W. Chapman, the City Council’s building engineer, will attend a civil defence course in Macedon,, Victoria, from September 20 to October 2. As building engineer, Mr Chapman is in control of the heavy rescue section of the local civil defence organisation. He has been nominated. for the course by the Ministry of Civil Defence. When the council approved leave for him last evening, it agreed that he should spend an additional two weeks in Australia investigating building construction methods and local authority control of buildings.
