N.Z. Reserves £97.8m
WELLINGTON, July 20. Net overseas assets of the New Zealand banking system on July 8 were £97.8m, compared with £98.2m a week before and £92.6m on July 10 last year. These figures were announced by the Reserve Bank.
Business Personal Sir Edward Ritchie Knox, a director and former chairman of C.S.R., Will retire from the board before the next annual meeting, ending a period of 110 years in which the Knox family has been represented on the board. He represents the third generation of the family. He became a director of C.S.R. in 1923 and was chairman from 1933 to 1959. Mr L. J. Stevens has been elected chairman of directors of Consolidated Brick and Pipe Investments, Ltd., Auckland. He succeeds the late Mr T. E. Clark. Mr Stevens, who is a director of other companies, has been a member of the board of Consolidated Brick and its chief subsidiary, Amalgamated Brick and Pipe Company, Ltd., since 1941,
