SUBMARINE PIPES
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, June 30. . In his years as an officer of the Biack Watch, the Governor-General (Sir Bernard Fergusson) has beard the regimental marches piped in many places and parts of the world. But this morning for the first time he heard the familiar strains in the interior of- a submarine.’ ’ Sir Bernard Fergusson was visiting the submarine, H.M.S. Trump, as a return for entertainment accorded officers yesterday at- Government House.
‘ Seated in the cramped wardroom, he listened appreciatively to the lilt of “Highland Laddie,” the Black Watch Regiment quick march, and “My Home,” the slow march.
