Gifts In Three Wills
A bequest of £looo.to the Roman Catholic Bishop of Christchurch for the maintenance, education, and advancement of trainees for . the priesthood is made in the will of Robert Burns, an engineer, of Christchurch, who died on June 3. Probate of the will was granted in the, Supreme Court recently at under £lO,OOO. Other bequests include £l5O to the Lyttelton parish priest as a stipend; £l5O to the Sisters of Mercy Convent, Lyttelton; £lOO to the St. Columban Mission, Lower Hutt; HOO to the Carmelite Monastery, Christchurch; £5O to the Hospitallers of St. John, and - £5O to Calvary Hospital, Christchurch. A bequest of £5O is made to the First Church of Christ Scientist in the will of Alleen del Valle Harman, who. died on May 4.
Frederick Alexander Manning, a service-station attendant, who died on June 4, left a private legacy of £lOO and the remainder of his' £2500 estate to the Nurse Maude District Nursing Association.
