SHELLEY, General Manager, MUNICIPAL ELECTRICITY DEPT. .7487 HALSWELL COUNTY COUNCIL SPECIAL ORDER TO AMEND HALSWELL COUNTY WATER SUPPLY BY-LAW 1961 NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a Special Meeting of the Halswell County Council held at the Council Chambers, Halswell road, Halswell, on Wednesday, the 24th day of June. 1964, the following resolution by way Of Special Order was passed and will be submitted for confirmation as a Special Order at a special meeting of the said Council to be held at the Council Chambers, Halswell road, Halswell, on Thursday, the 23rd day of July, 1964, at 1 p.m. RESOLUTION THE HALSWELL COUNTY COUNCIL under and by virtue of and in exercise of and in pursuance of the powers and authorities vested in it by the Counties Act 1956 and of all other powers and authorities in any way enabling HEREBY MAKES by way of Special Order the following By-law such By-law to be in force throughout that part of the Halswell County known as the Halswell County Water Supply Area and as described in the Schedule to the Halswell County Water Supply By-law 1961: 1. THE short tile of this By-law is "The Halswell County Water, Supply Amendment By-law 1964”.

2. THE paragraph 3 (f) of the said Halswell County Water Supply By-law 1961 is hereby repealed and the following paragraph is substituted therefor: 3 (f). (a) Any water supplied from the waterworks to property within the said area and used for the following strictly domestic purposes shall be deemed to be "ordinary" supply that is to say water for the use of the consumer and his family and other inmates of his dwellinghouse or premises for the time being for drinking, for ordinary personal ablution, for cooking, for washing linen or clothes, for washing and cleaning floors, windows, domestic or other furniture or utensils or any part of the consumer’s dwellinghouse or premises as aforesaid, for sanitary purposes and for watering of domestic gardens lawns and greens. (b) Any water supplied from the waterworks through a metered connexion shall be deemed to be an "extraordinary” supply notwithstanding that supply may be used for domestic purposes. 3. THAT paragraph 3 (g) of the said Halswell County Water Supply By-law 1961 is hereby repealed and the following paragraph is substituted thereThe charges payable to the Local Authority for "ordinary" and "extraordinary" supply of water shall be as follows: (1) Houses connected to unmetered supply £7 0 0 Per annum (2) Shops connected to unmetered supply £7 0 0 plus £3 for each additional shop in excess of the first shop if not separately connected to the supply Per annum (3) Flats and Motels connected to unmetered supply £7 0 0 plus £3 for each flat or motel in excess of the first flat or motel if not separately connected to supply Per annum (4) Tea Rooms and

other commercial premises not otherwise described connected to unmetered supply £lO 0 0 Per annum (5) Churches and Halls connected to unmetered supply £2 0 0 Per annum (6) Schools connected to unmetered supply £4O 0 0 Per annum (7) Hotels licensed or private connected to unmetered supply £25 0 0 Per annum (8) Market or commercial gardens connected to unmetered supply £l5 0 0 Per annum (9) A vacant section connected to unmetered supply £7 0 0 Per annum (10) All houses, vacant sections, shops, flats, motels, tea rooms, commercial premises, schools, hotels, market or commercial gardens as described in paragraphs (1) to (4) inclusive and (6) to (9) inclusive above which are situated within 100 yards of any part of the water works but not connected to supply £3 10 0 Per annum (11) All churches and halls situated within 100 yards of any part of the water works but . not connected to supply £lO 0 Per annum The words "vacant section” wherever used in this By-law means any parcel of land not being Included in paragraphs (1) to (8) inclusive and which comprise either a parcel of land contained in a separate Certificate of Title or a separate lot on a plan deposited in the Land Registry Office for which a separate Certificate of Title may be issued. EXTRAORDINARY SUPPLY 1. The charge for all extraordinary supply shall be £7 per annum for the first 50,000 gallons or part thereof and thereafter at the rate of £1 for every 5000 gallons or part thereof.
