FOALS HAVE TIME ON THEIR SIDE
Connexions of five southern horses with engagements at the Wellington winter meeting booked to ■travel north last night changed their plans
on learning that the port of Wellington was idle yesterday.
The horses concerned were Kumai, Ravelston, Corduroy,
and Grand Monarch, from Wingatui, and Helena Maid from Riverton. However, two foals travelled north in the inter-island ferry last night.
Most of the Riccarton horses with Trentham engagements are booked to travel this evening; so are the Wingatui stablemates Explain, Flying York, and Carpenter, which are in charge of their race rider, E. J. Didham.
