The Sydney Stock Exchange opened for the week yesterday on a dull tone with prices steady and turnover average with 559,000 industrial and 108,000 mining shares being traded.

The- most active stocks were Ex Oil (18,000), Waltons (13,000) and Blue Metal Industries (13,000). Leaders were moderate with prices firm. Oil stocks were active with both rises and falls being recorded.
