Fine Teamwork By Wolves
Wolves turned on a sparkling display of precision passing, to beat Rangers by 10 goals to 2 in the final Christchurch Cup ice hockey match played at the indoor ice rink last night. Rangers seldom looked like a team, and only got into an attacking position by fast solo breakaways.
Wolves made the puck do the work, and had Rangers chasing all over the rink as they passed the puck backwards and forwards.
The Rangers goalie had a torrid time in the net, and usually had to face at least three Wolves at a time on his own, as his defencemen had been caught out of position. Scorers were:—Wolves: J. Brizzell 3, P. Wright 2, J. Wallis, B. Guy, B. O’Conner, S. Walters, P. Begej. Rangers: R. Atkinson, S. Pluck. The referees were Messrs B
