Spate Of Road Accidents

Thirteen persons were admitted to hospital and 14 were treated for injuries after road accidents in and near Christchurch during the week-end. Head and chest injuries were suffered by Zamoni Sullivan, of Strickland street when two cars collided on the Tai Tapu bridge late on Saturday evening. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital. Campbell Spurr, of Okains Bay, was treated for a facial laceration. When a car rolled over in Barrington street about 4.10 a m. yesterday Roy Shepherd, of Howard street, suffered head injuries. He was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital. Norma Morris, of 9 Blossomdale place, Papanui, and Athleen Travis, of 4 Blossomdale place, suffered head injuries when two cars collided in Wairakei road about 2.5 a.m. yesterday. Both were admitted to the Christchurch Hospital.

Sarah McGuinness, of 12 Cobra street Halswell. was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital suffering from shock after two cars collided in Papanui about 1.20 a.m. yesterday.

Four members of a family were injured when a car got out of control in shingle and rolled over at Waikari yesterday morning. Mrs Julienne Fourie, of Waikari, suf ; fered lacerations to the head and arm, and was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital. Lionel Fourie, Mark Fourie. aged four, and Clare Fourie. aged three, were all treated for minor injuries. Three persons were injured when a car hit a rock in Grassons road, near Oxford, yesterday. Sylvia Dawn Evans, of 38 Wilsons road, was admitted to the Christchurch Hospital, suffering from lacerations to the forehead sustained when two cars collided in Wilsons road yesterday. Eleanor Beatrice King, of 94 St. Martins road, was treated for lacera-t-jns to an arm.

Graham Raymond Rich, aged 13, of 17 Twyford street, Bryndwr, suffered leg injuries when he ran into the back of a car in Condeil avenue about 10.25 a.m. on Saturday. He was treated at the Christchurch Hospital. Claude Humphrey Davies, of 19 Weka street. Fendalton, was treated at the Christchurch Hospital for minor head injuries after two cars collided at the corner of Fitzgerald avenue and Ferry road about 1 p.m. on Saturday. After a car and a truck collided at the corner of Colombo and Brougham streets on Saturday evening three persons were treated at the Christchurch Hospital. Janice Marjorie Petrie, of 145 Hackthorne road, suffered chest and leg injuries and shock. Audrey Wilson, of 33 Trent street, ‘ Oamaru, suffered abrasions to the legs, and James William Brine, of 216 Hoon Hay road, suffered abrasions to the scalp. Donald Lowe, of Emlyn place, Wainoni, suffered abrasions to an arm when a car rolled over at Dunsandel on Saturday evening. He was treated at the Christchurch Hospital.
