C.W.I. BIRTHDAY PARTY
The Canterbury East centre of the country Women's Institutes held its sixth birth-, day party recently when the president (Mrs L Parker) wel-< corned visitors and guests of honour.
A programme of entertainment included a novelty fashion parade, pianoforte solos by Mrs D. Gollans, a recitation by Mrs D. Mcßae, a game and a competition. Mrs A 3L Riches presented prizes won during the year to Mesdames G. Chiplin, H. Welsh and D. Gollans. The birthday cake was cut by Mrs M. Morten.
